Nanostructured objects from helical-chiral block copolymers

Amphiphilic block-copolymers tend to self-organize into higher ordered structures like micelles or vesicles. The combination of a hydrophobic helical rigid-rod polymer with random coil hydrophilic block should give rise to the formation a such structures with a chiral interior. The goal of our research project is to investigate the applicability of these compartments as chiral nano reactors for asymmetric syntheses. Parts of the project will be carried out in close collaboration with project B2, and C1.
